Victorian Garden
Victorian explorers Gertrude Bell and Isabella Bird inspired the name of Austin’s antique jewelers, Bell and Bird, who specialize in antique jewelry of the 18th and 19th Century. The design of thier storefront garden plays off this Victorian theme: linear site gemetries, faceted topiary, and jewel-toned perrienials draw their inspiration from the faceted gemstones and jewel boxes of this era. Lollypop-sculpted Japanese Blueberry and the purple-flowered silver foliage of Bush Germander (Teucrium fruticans ‘Azureum’) enframe a formal lawn that is flanked by shaded seating nooks on two sides. The focal point of the garden is a bold and silvery Bismark Palm at the storefront entry. Together these elements create a bold, playful, and elegant entry experience.
Brand Identity
The landscape design for Bell and Bird’s new location in Austin’s Bryker Woods neighborhood is an expression of their products’ uniqueness and beauty. Known for their carefully curated collection of antique jewelry as well as their custom commissions, the landscape is in harmony with their brand’s elegance and grace.
